Well...it's been interesting getting ready to go away this year. For a few months we didn't know if we could get away - as many of you know Richard's back was bad. 10 days ago we got the go ahead and it's been a scramble to get ready....but we're off tomorrow!
Itinerary:
We start in Rome for 10 days...........a return to our first winter away destination. Then onto Sardinia for 2 weeks (in two apartments) and then to Lucca (in western Tuscany) for 4 weeks in a lovely apartment. Finally, 5 nights in Amsterdam before we return March 15, thanks to the free stopover on our KLM tickets.
We will be good bloggers this year - South America got away from us last year with much travel (and we hope to update that blog while we're away!).....we plan to do shorter, more frequent posts this year so do check regularly.

A note regarding blog navigation
- The 10 most recent posts will appear in the upper right hand margin under "Recent Posts" - when we are adding a lot of posts the new posts will tend to "sink" quickly
- there are other ways to navigate the site to find new posts - on the right hand margin you'll see "Categories" - as we start to post we'll cluster entries by Country/sights which will appear as we add posts - so you can go directly to an area of interest - for example, if you click on "Buenos Aries" you can read the posts chronologically like a diary (the categories are not showing yet)
- or......click on the Archives by month - it will populate automatically as time passes - at the bottom of the right hand margin
